Let’s confront what you’re thinking right now: Ugh. Another Travel Blog? Really? You’re probably looking at this post like that girl is (see photo of skeptical Spaniard). So let’s talk why OYE’s content actually applies to your travel needs.
Sure, this is a blog about travel. And sure, there are a lot of travel blogs out there. But I promise, here, you’ll get a breath of fresh air. (Or smog. Depending on where you are in the world.)
First of all: Nice to virtually meet you, my name is Lexi, I’m 22 years old, and I’ve traveled cumulatively for a little over a year. I worked in Mexico, studied abroad in Costa Rica & Spain, volunteered abroad in Peru and backpacked all over Western Europe. I also visited the Columbia airport where I had the WORST “Caesar” salad in the world. For a flavor preview- mayonnaise was used as dressing. Columbia salads: you’ve been warned.
So yes, I am young. But yes, I actually know what I’m talking about. Se habla español; what’s more, I’ve spent much of my time abroad working.
So while there is a plethora of blogs detailing Little Bobby’s complaints about how the food abroad is different from Mom’s…OYE! Travel will NOT be my diary.
What OYE! Travel Will Be:
Tips for Professionals Working Abroad
Working abroad is completely different that working at home. No matter where you’re working, there are cultural norms that you need to know to be successful. I’ll explain.
Travel Advice for Women
It’s time for women to get out there! Women are smart, strong, and beyond capable of traveling. If you’re considering traveling abroad, I’ll have lots of content to make you feel confident during your trip. You can do it.
While you’re traveling solo, you might be alone…but you’ll never be lonely. Not only will I be providing savvy travel advice for the lone wolves, but OYE! Travel is a community, and we’ll be here for you.
How to Save Money by Traveling Smart
There’s a lot to figure out when you’re planning to go abroad. Trust me, I hate planning as much as you do. I also really, really do not like spending money. Despite popular belief, you actually can travel without losing an arm and a leg. I’ll show you how. And for the skeptics- don’t worry, my advice is free and always will be.
Let’s Face It. I’ll Get Weird.
I’ve been on A LOT of ten hour trains and planes. I know what it’s like. Instead of going insane from boredom, check out my podcast suggestions, book recommendations, and travel playlists. I’ll also include ways to nap safely. My friends know I’m very talented at napping in public places. It’s one of my strong suits.
I want to empower you to take that trip you’ve been dreaming of…or that your work is forcing you to go on. Welcome to OYE! Travel.
